NEW YORK COUNSELING & THERAPY FOR ANGER, ANXIETY, & MEN’S ISSUES
with Dr. Bob Nemerovski, Psychologist
Are you looking for therapy to help you…
Stop snapping at your partner or kids after a long day and a packed commute?
Cool a temper that’s starting to cost you at work, in meetings, emails, or with your team?
Quiet the 3 a.m. worry spiral, imposter feelings, and constant “what if” thinking?
Lift the heaviness of depression, burnout, grief, or a divorce?
Repair a relationship stuck in the same fight, or decide what comes next?
Reconnect with a child who’s pulling away, or help them get back on track?
Or maybe you want to understand yourself more deeply: how you got here, and how to grow on purpose.
I’ve helped hundreds of people find calm and control again — including New Yorkers from Manhattan and Brooklyn to Westchester, Long Island and upstate.
I see adults at every stage of life, and I welcome people of every gender, orientation, ability, culture, and background.
Issues I specialize in:
ANGER
Anger isn’t the problem: What it costs you is.
We find your triggers and build tools that work in the heat of the moment.
Let’s talk.
ANXIETY
Racing thoughts, a tight chest, 3 a.m. worry, sleep that never refreshes.
I help you find the root of the worry and build habits that calm your mind and body.
MEN’S THERAPY
Many men were taught to handle everything alone, until stress, anger, or distance at home says otherwise.
I offer a direct, no-jargon space to work on stress, communication, and relationships.
DEPRESSION
Depression isn’t always obvious. You may still be working and showing up for everyone else while feeling flat, exhausted, and stuck inside.
I offer an empathetic yet direct, engaged approach that heals while building practical tools to help you re-connect to your life.
ANGER THERAPY FOR PARENTS
Yelling more than you want to? Kids can push buttons nothing else does, and the guilt afterward is exhausting.
I combine anger therapy with parenting coaching for calmer discipline, fewer blowups, and a united front with your partner.
Client Feedback
If you are looking for someone to guide you in the therapy process who takes you seriously while being kind and compassionate, and who is skillful and experienced but down-to-earth and easy to talk to, then I may be the right therapist for you.
I’m licensed in New York (#028215) and see clients across the state by secure video, so you can meet from home, your office, or a quiet room between meetings.
How Online Anger Therapy Works
Free 15-minute call. We talk briefly about what’s going on and whether we’re a good fit.
Simple intake. You complete secure forms online before our first session.
Your first session with Dr. Bob. We meet by video to dig into what brought you here, what you want to change, and what’s worked or hasn’t before. You’ll leave with a clear plan for our work together and often some personalized tips and tools to get you going.
Weekly video sessions. We meet for 50 minutes by convenient, HIPAA-compliant video, from home, your office, or anywhere private. Each week we build practical skills, work through real situations from your life, and track what’s changing. You will learn more about what your specific “triggers” are and what is really beneath your anger —or anxiety and depression—and how to get to the roots. As you make progress, we can space sessions out.
Anywhere in New York State. NYC, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, or upstate. All you need is a private space and a stable connection. Sessions are available M-F, including evenings.
Fees & Insurance:
My regular fee for adolescent, adult, or couples therapy in NY State is $300 for a 50 minute psychotherapy session. Extended sessions for couples are available as needed and the schedule allows. I accept cash, personal check, Visa/MC/Amex, and Health Savings Account cards.
I do not take insurance directly, however, I can provide a monthly statement of the fees you have paid to me so you can potentially receive reimbursement from your insurer. In this case, I advise you to contact your insurance company and ask about your specific coverage for “out of network” mental health services.
Good Faith Estimate Notice:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
